Blue and Black sends out nine internationals

The regular competition done and dusted, it is time for an international break. As usual, Club is nicely represented on the international stage, as ten Bruges players will soon head to their national teams. Find out who will be in action when below.

BJORN MEIJER - NETHERLANDS U21

Our left back has been called up again for the Dutch national team's youngsters, where some important qualifying matches await for the 2025 European Championship, where Jong Oranje will be facing Norway and Moldova

Game dates: 

  • Thursday, March 21 at 8 p.m.: Jong Oranje - Norway U21
  • Monday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m.: Moldova U21 - Netherlands Junior Team

JORNE SPILEERS - BELGIUM U21

The same goes for Jorne Spileers, who is facing an important duel with the Belgian U21s towards the same European U21 Championship. Belgium will meet Spain and Malta.

Game dates:

  • Thursday, March 21 at 8 p.m.: Belgium U21 - Malta U21
  • Tuesday, March 26 at 7 p.m.: Spain U21 - Belgium U21

JOAQUIN SEYS & KYRIANI SABBE - BELGIUM U19

Two Bruges players are heading to the Belgian U19 team of national coach Wesley Sonck. They have plenty to do in the long-awaited Elite Round, where duels with the U19 of France, Lithuania and the Netherlands are on the program.

Game dates:

  • Wednesday, March 20 at 7 p.m.: France U19 - Belgium U19
  • Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m.: Belgium U19 - Lithuania U19
  • Tuesday, March 26 at 7 p.m.: Belgium U19 - Netherlands U19

HUGO VETLESEN & ANTONIO NUSA - NORWAY

Our Norwegian boys Nusa and Vetlesen are also back on the Stale Solbakken team. Practice matches are scheduled for the duo against the Czech Republic and Slovakia. 

Game dates:
  • Friday, March 22 at 6 p.m.: Norway - Czech Republic
  • Tuesday, March 26 at 7 p.m.: Norway - Slovakia
RAPHAEL ONYEDIKA - NIGERIA

For Raphaël Onyedika, it will be a first reunion with his Nigerian teammates since losing the Africa Cup final early this year. He will play practice matches against Denis Odoi's Ghana and Mali.

Game dates:

  • Friday, March 22 at 4 p.m.: Nigeria - Ghana
  • Tuesday, March 26 at 9 p.m.: Nigeria - Mali
DENIS ODOI - GHANA

Denis Odoi will also see his teammates back for the first time since the Africa Cup. In addition to a meeting with Nigeria, they also face Uganda. Both games are practice matches.
